Dance, dance, dance

I was bored again today, so I wrote a little poem. The 2. line is about dance, the 3. is about life :)

Dance, dance, dance,
Don't think about the steps,
Don't think about others,
Dance, dance, dance.

Turn, turn, turn,
In your pirouettes,
Turn the other cheek,
Turn, turn, turn.

Fly, fly, fly,
When you're jumping,
Away from it all,
Fly, fly, fly.

Smile, smile, smile,
Because you are dancing,
Because you are living,
Smile, smile, smile.

Smiling, smiling, smiling at you,

Post Christmas

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, filled with joy, happiness, good food and presents! I had a wonderful Christmas, with my family. The only negative thing was, that my little sister was sick, like last year... It'sbecoming a Christmas tradition... Well to look on the bright side, she wasn't to sick to dance around the Christmas tree, and open gifts.
The days after Christmas are always a bit of an anti-klimax, with al the excitment of Christmas over. But I always focus on the things that are coming, like New Years Eve. My grandmother is turning 70, on the 1 of January, and therefore we are throwing a birthday party for her, on New Years Eve. And this gives me something to do, these post-Christmas days. Because I have to make a dessert for 12 people, and this dessert takes 5 days  to make.

The night before Christmas

Today it is Christmas eve!!!!! Here in Denmark we celebrate Christmas tonight, so it is here we open presents, and stuff like that. For our Christmas dinner we eat goose, white and brown potatos, and rice porrige, sounds kind of wierd, but tastes delicous. We all so have Santa Claus coming, with the gifts, which my little sister (3 years), is totally exicted for.
To all of you who celebrate Christmas, I want to tell you a story, or just write some of "The night before Christmas", my absolut favorite Christmas book:

It was the night before Christmas
And all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring,
Not even a mouse.

The stockings were hung,
By the chimney with care,
In hope that St. Nicolas,
Soon would be there.

The children were nestled,
All snug in their beds,
While versions of Sugar plums,                                   YAAAAY!!! SUGAR PLUM FAIRY!!!
Danced in their heads.

And mama in her kerchief,
And I, in my cap,
Went to sleep,
For a long winters nap.

Then out on the lawn,
There arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed,
To see what was the matter.

Yes..... I know you wanna here want happend next, don't you :P Weeeeell, I'll just tell you that a man in red comes, and gives gifts and says:

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night,

Wierd family traditions

I love family Christmas traditions, like going to see the Nutcracker, and baking cookies. But every family has a wierd tradition.... In Denmark we celebrate Christmas in the evening the 24th, and the 23th is called "Little Christmas eve". On little Christmas eve, we ALWAYS, and I really mean always, eat hot chocolate-soup. It is basicly just hot chocolate in a bowl, eaten with a spoon. It is really quite wierd, but if we have something else for dinner, it is just wrong! What is your family's wierd traditions??

Hot chocolate in a bowl, and merry little Christmas eve,

It is a beautiful day and I can't see it...

This is one of the most beautiful videos on youtube ever!! I always have tears rolling down cheeks, when I watch it...
I wish there were more of those people like the woman. More people that help others, even though they aren't like them. I also feel so sad for all the people who are blind, or any other kind of handicapped. God bless them. That reminds me of the Christmas song "Christmas is coming".

"Christmas is coming, goose is getting fat
Please put a penny in the old mans hat!
If you havn't got a penny a haypenny will do,
If you havn't got a haypenny,
Then God bless you!"

I'm so thankful that me and all my family can see all the beautiful days!

Today it was the last day at school, before the holidays! So now I have Christmasbreak! Yaaaay! I am going to or summer residence (or know it is winter residence?). I have spent Christmas' here every year since I was born. It is an old farm, with two houses and a garage, all in white with loads of garden around it. I love being there, it just makes me feel home. Actually I lived there just when I was born, but it was only 1 year, from when I was 0-1. It is never really Christmas until I get there. All the baking of cookies, decorating and caroling, is really just the best.

(Un)Happy Christmas?

There are big expectations when it is Christmas-time. Everybody are supposed to be happy and joyfull, and have a wonderful cozy time with their families. But every year you almost always get just a little bit disapointed, because nobody can live up to the high demands. Every family has it's traditions, and if you break them or do them just a little bit wrong, everyone gets irretated. Christmas is also a stressed time. All the foods and gifts and decorations has to be perfect. But nothing can be perfect.
People can also feel alone on Christmas, if they haven't got a family. And sadness is also turned up a bit in the supposed to be best month of the year, December. When you have to be happy, it is always harder. When you try to fake being happy, you just get even more sad... And then everything just shatters to peices.
If you are one of those people feeling sad, unloved and lonely, remember, I love you, and send you loads of giant christmas hugs. And most of all: It is okay to be sad, because Christmas is also a time for honesty!

Love straight from my heart to yours!

Nutcracker

Yesterday I went to see the Royal Danish Ballet perform Balanchine's version of The Nutcracker. I didn't really like the new costumes and scenography that was made for this ballet. And the dancers weren't the best, since most of the solos were danced by corps members. But I kind of understand that. The Nutcracker must be a good ballet for the artistic director to see how corps members deal with solos, because the parts are quite small.
One thing I always love is the music! Tchaikovsky sure was a genius! I'm almost always humming the Waltz of the Flowers, or Little Overture. Going to see Nutcracker also made me in such a Christmas spirit! The feeling I get when the ratking, Clara and the nutcracker fighting, and when Sugar Plum dances with her prince, and when Dewdrop does her balances. I just feel like Christmas is officially here. .. There is really nothing like the happiness you get when it time for Jesus' birthday ;)

Life in Dance

I just bought a new ballet book, in this tiny teeny, dusty bookstore. The book is called "Life In Dance" by no other than...... DARCEY BUSSELL! Looove her!!! It is kind of an autobiography thing about her dance life, she wrote it in 1998, so it isn't so up to date, but so what? I love how it describes how she got into dance, and what she thinks of everything.
It must be wonderful to do something you love so much, and then when people have seen you, they want to read a book aout how you did it. That truely must warm you heart!

Dance, dance, dance!
Kisses,

Family

Today my mom came home from USA. She had been to a conference in 10 days, so we had all missed her alot. When she came in the door, we were all hugging her and speaking 1000 miles/hour. It must feel so amazing, coming home to a family that loves you and cares about you! A family that has missed you, and thought of you when you weren't there. I hope that someday I, and all other people, will come home to a house, with loved ones, that loves you back. One of my biggest dreams is, not to be rich or famouse, but to have a family. A family that supports me, and loves me for who I am.

Hope that all your dreams come true,

I really have No idea for a title!

Yesterday I went to ballet class, for the first time in 2 weeks. IT WAS WONDERFUL! I had already forgotten how lovely it was dancing. We started working on a dane we are dancing in march, on the main stage of the royal danish theater. It is to Tchaikovski's 6. symphonie Pathetique. I'm dancing along with 5 other girls, in an eeeextremly fast pointe-turning thing :)

Have a lovely friday!

Always look on the bright side of life!

Sorry I haven't updated my blog lately. But I have been sick, and had a pile as big as a house full of homework :( I have been to sick to go to ballet class, but today I'm going! Yaay! Can just feel my body isn't as much in shape as it was before I got sick, but that just gives me an excuse to go to  some more classes. Always look on the bright side of life!

Bright things in my life right now:

- That my family are all happy and healthy!

- That it is soon Christmas!

- That I have ballet class!

- That all the homework I'm doing, is making me clever'ere!

Happy thoughts and big hugs,

1. december!!

Today it's the first of december!!!! Yaaay! I love Christmas, but ONLY in december. Stores start decorating their windows in early november, and the radios start playing Christmas songs there too. I can't stand it. But when december starts, I'm in the most Christmassy mood baking cookies and decorating.
The best things about Christmas, is being with my family and celebrating the birth of Jesus. I also love the Nutcracker!!!!! Nothing to get me in a better Christmas spirit, than going to watch the Nutcracker. Another thing, is Christmas music. Especially "Christmas with Harry Belafonde", a Christmas album, my grandmother always listens to.

Christmas, Christmas, Christmas!!
